Victim Vicky of Tira village told the police that he had gone to Chandigarh railway station on Sunday, where he met the accused, who were his old associates
Two persons have been booked for allegedly assaulting a 24-year-old Mohali resident with a sharp-edged weapon near Daria on March 19, police said on Thursday.
The accused have been identified as Arshdeep alias Tima and Vikash alias Laddu of Chandigarh.
Victim Vicky of Tira village told the police that he had gone to Chandigarh railway station on Sunday, where he met the accused, who were his old associates.
“We all went to a tavern in Daria and consumed alcohol. Arshdeep asked me to lend him some money but I refused. Later when I hired an auto-rickshaw to return home, the accused came inside and started beating me up. The driver stopped the auto-rickshaw and dropped three of us there,” the complainant said.
While Vikash held him from behind, Arshdeep allegedly attacked the victim and inflicted multiple injuries on neck and back, Vicky said.
The victim then took a lift and reached GMSH-16, where he underwent treatment.
The absconding accused have been booked under sections 324 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code at the Industrial Area police station.
