A press release issued by the MP’s staff stated that during the session, Sandhu participated in 11 debates and raised 29 questions highlighting issues concerning Punjab, including agriculture, water security, healthcare, infrastructure, education and air connectivity.

It added that Sandhu raised issues concerning water security and conservation, the need to modernise Punjab’s canal system and rejuvenate wetlands, concerns over the rising drug menace in the state, agricultural issues, foodgrain storage scarcity, cooperative sugar mills, building robust cancer-care infrastructure and international connectivity from Chandigarh.

Speaking about the culture and identity of Punjab, Sandhu stressed the need for the preservation of the Maharaja Ranjit Singh-linked heritage spot at Ropar, invoking the legacy of the Maharaja and his historic Sarkar-e-Khalsa vision of inclusive governance, equitable administration and social harmony.
