The Delhi government has asked all its departments to fast-track the digitisation of official documents to strengthen verification systems and streamline Aadhaar-related services, officials said on Tuesday.

The Information Technology department of the Delhi government will also conduct a training session for departments to familiarise them with the issuance of documents that meet the criteria mandated by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
The directions came following a letter from the UIDAI, highlighting the need for seamless and reliable document verification during Aadhaar enrolment and updates.
The UIDAI has already upgraded its systems to enable direct online verification of several key documents, including PAN cards, birth certificates, driving licences, passports, and CBSE marksheets, by linking them to their respective databases.
It has outlined three essential criteria for all documents issued by government departments, including digital issuance with a QR code, online verification in a machine-readable format, and database access via Application Programming Interface (API).
However, some documents issued by departments under the Government of Delhi do not yet meet these standards, an official said.
