1.78 lakh students register for Maha CET this year
Out of the 178, 860 students: 67,526 students have registered for the physics-chemistry-biology group; 73,712 students have registered for the physics-chemistry-mathematics group; whereas 26,368 students have registered for both the PCB and PCM groups
PUNE The response to this year’s Maharashtra state Common Entrance Test (CET) has been good, with as many as 1.78 lakh students having registered for it. Following the announcement of the CET schedule by the state CET cell, students have started online registration where they can apply for CET cell professional courses till March 31.
As per information shared by the state CET cell, a total 178,860 students have successfully registered for the CET 2022-23 thus far. Out of the 178, 860 students: 67,526 students have registered for the physics-chemistry-biology (PCB) group; 73,712 students have registered for the physics-chemistry-mathematics group; whereas 26,368 students have registered for both the PCB and PCM groups. A total 141,238 students have confirmed their examination seats and paid fees for the same.
Interestingly, admissions to various professional courses of the CET cell for the academic year 2021-22 are still underway even as registration for the new academic year CET has begun. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the admission process for the last two years was delayed, affecting students’ careers in turn. “I had to take admission for medical courses in the last academic year, but there was much delay in the process. So, I had to take admission in a private university by paying higher fees. Hopefully this year, the admission process will start early and all admissions will be completed before the month of July,” said Shanatanu Khatri, a student.
Ravindra Jagtap, Maharashtra state CET cell chairman, said, “As per the schedule declared by the state CET cell on Tuesday, the MHT-CET-2022 entrance examination for admission to professional courses in engineering, technology, pharmacy, and agricultural education through the state common entrance test (CET) cell for the academic year 2022-23 will be held at various examination centres within and outside the state of Maharashtra. Interested students can carry out their online registration and confirmation of application form on the official website till March 31.”
The online application registration schedule and information brochure for this examination have been made available on the official website www.mahacet.org of the state CET cell. This is for the information of all concerned students, parents, institutions and stakeholders.
