India Predicted XI vs Sri Lanka, 2nd T20I: Both Yuzvendra Chahal and Axar Patel went wicketless in last match but both are expected to play.
India take on Sri Lanka in the second T20I match of the three-match series on Thursday. Currently leading the series 1-0, India would look to win and clinch the series. Earlier, Hardik Pandya and Co. had secured a two-run victory over the visitors on Tuesday.
In the absence of seniors like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah, the hosts did well against a full strength Sri Lankan side. In their bowling, India ticked all the right boxes as debutant Shivam Mavi claimed a 4-fer and youngster Umran Malik scalped two wickets in the match. Given their tremendous performance, both are likely to part of the playing XI again. On the other hand, both Yuzvendra Chahal and Axar Patel went wicketless but both are expected to play as Chahal might get another chance to improve upon and Axar compensated for his no-wicket spell with his superb batting and death bowling.
If Arshdeep Singh recovers from his illness ahead of the match, he might replace Harshal Patel who didn't look much convincing and leaked runs at more than 10 runs per over.
It's expected that India's batting won't see many changes with Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill as openers and Suryakumar Yadav at No.3. Sanju Samson has been ruled out for the series and there is hence a good chance that we migh see Rahul Tripathi get a nod. At No.5, captain Pandya is almost certain and Deepak Hooda will be the No.6, in the role of finisher for the hosts.
