Shubman Gill hits half-century off 33 balls as New Zealand bring in Mitchell Santner into the attack. IND: 97/0 (12 overs) 

Tickner bowls it down the leg stump, which is guided by Gill behind the stumps. It beats the wicketkeeper by inches and races towards the fence.

Rohit Sharma, however, takes on Duffy in the next over as he hits him for a couple of sixes and one four. 17 runs come off it as India muster 82/0 in the first powerplay. 

Shubman Gill is on fire as he hits Ferguson for three boundaries in four balls. He then hits the pacer for a SIX towards the square of the wicket. He then finishes the over with another boundary. 22 runs come in a over. IND: 64/0 (8 overs)

New Zealand make bowling change as they introduce Blair Tickner. He is driven towards the cover by Shubman Gill. The bowler then concedes another four, thick outside edge off Rohit Sharma's bat, which beats the wicketkeeper and races for a boundary. IND: 42/0 (7 overs)

A maiden over by Ferguson. IND: 31/0 (6 over)

Duffy bangs it short and Gill pulls it for a six towards the fine leg region, taking full advantage of the small boundaries. 

Rohit joins the party as Duffy bowls it full, which the Indian skipper connects it from the middle of the bat. The ball sails past the bowler, for a maximum.

A tight over by Ferguson as he bowls an extra in the form of a wide and concedes just one single. Two runs come off the over. IND: 17/0 (4 overs)

Duffy bowls it full and wide and Rohit opens his arms and connects it from the middle of his blade for a boundary towards covers.

The bowler beats him in the second delivery, but the following ball also results in a four, as Rohit flicks it towards the on-side.

Shubman Gill opens the face of his bat and guides a good length ball by Lockie Ferguson towards the third-man region for a boundary. 

The bowler then manages to get the ball angle towards Gill, which takes an inside edge and hits his pads.

Jacob Duffy is extracting good bounce but no threat so far. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma timed two shots from the middle of his blade before he opted for a lofted drive. Lucky for him as it goes away from the infield. He completes a double. IND: 3/0 (1 over)

A great news for fans as we will see the iconic pair of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal reuniting in the contest. The pair has delivered some of the exceptional performances in the past and the fans will hope for a repeat tonight.

As we minutes away from the toss, here's a quick series recap: 

1st ODI: India won by 12 runs, Shubman Gill scored a double ton and helped India pile an enormous 349/8 batting first. New Zealand started the contest on a slow note but explosive batting by Michael Bracewell and Mitchell Santner filled life into the contest. They took New Zealand close to the 350-run target but the tourists could only manage 337/10 in 49.2 overs, with Bracewell being the last batter dismissed. 

2nd ODI: The second ODI was a one-sided affair as Indian bowling attack led by Mohammed Shami steamrolled through the Kiwi line, bundling them for 108 in 34.3 overs. India chased down the target comfortably and wrapped the proceedings in just 20.1 overs, winning the match by eight wickets.

India marked their preparations for the World Cup on a strong note, completing a clean sweep over Sri Lanka. Now the Men In Blue have another opportunity to repeat the feat as we draw closer to the showpiece event, which will be played later this year in India. 

If we look at the team combination, the batting order will likely remain the same. But there could be one or two tweaks in bowling, considering the workload management. 

Mohammed Shami is the seniormost pacer in the unit, with Jasprit Bumrah still ailing from his back injury. With the contest being a dead rubber and the World Cup fast approaching, the management might want to give him a slight break. If that is the case Umran Malik come into the XI. It'll also be a preparation for the youngsters as he will be one of India's key bowler in the T20Is, which will start from Friday. 

Yuzvendra Chahal could also get some game time, and can be seen replacing Kuldeep Yadav. 

England currently lead the ICC ODI rankings and are followed by New Zealand. India are placed third, however, a win here will take them to the pole position.

The weather forecast looks promising as Indore is set to an ODI after a wait of five years. The last time and ODI was played here, India had chased down the 290-run target quite comfortably. 

With two back-to-back defeats, New Zealand's morale will be mentally down and with pride at stake, they will be seeking a consolation win!

There is zero percent chance of rain, so fans can see full 100 overs being played. The temperature is expected to be around 27 and 19 degrees Celsius, with cloud cover at 30 percent and humidity at 40 percent.

In the first ODI, Shami took a wicket in 10 overs, but proved to be expensive, conceding 69 runs. In the second ODI, he put his skill-set on the forefront with a three-wicket haul in six overs, conceding only 18 runs and also bagged a maiden! He will be aiming to take it a notch higher today!

Focus will be on Shubman Gill after the young opener smacked a double hundred in the first ODI and followed it with an unbeaten knock of 40 runs in the next match. A big score by the batter today?
