India vs South Africa Highlights: Women's World Cup IND-W vs SA-W: India made a good start after they were put to bat by Laura Wolvaardt. Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal looked good in the middle. They scored 55 runs for the first wicket and it was looking like they would propel the team towards a formidable total....Read More
The star batter, Mandhana struggled in the beginning. However, she was staring to get settled and played a brilliant shot to hit the first maximum of the innings. Soon after she fell and that started the change of momentum in the game.
After the dismissal of Mandhana, there was a 28-run partnership between Pratika Rawal and Harleen Deol. Even though they were going slow, it was looking like the repair job was on. But then everything started to go downhill for India.
From 83/1 in the 17th over, India lost five wickets for 19 runs and were reduced to 102/6 in the 26th over. When India were looking done and dusted, Richa Ghosh and Amanjot Kaur got together. The duo progressed steadily and scripted the gradual comeback for the team into the match.
However, as they went past the 50-run mark in their partnership, Chloe Tryon resulted in the demise of Amanjot Kaur. After the dismissal of Kaur, Sneh Rana and Richa Ghosh put together a partnership of 88 runs bailing India out of trouble.
Richa Ghosh departed in the last over of the innings scoring 94 runs. Even though, she fell short of a century by six runs, her effort deserves applauds more than a century. With 251 runs on the board, India believed that they had the bowling attack to restrict the South Africans at least one run short of that and take home their third consecutive win of this World Cup campaign.
Chasing 252 runs, South Africa needed a good start, especially from their star of the previous game, Tazmin Brits. However, the Indian bowlers had something else in mind. Gaud and Kaur combined to pick up the wickets of Brits and Luus early putting the Proteas on the back foot.
After the two early dismissals, Laura Wolvaardt and Marizanne Kapp were trying to find their way through the innings. The duo tried to script a dramatic comeback for the Proteas. However, Sneh Rana brought down the curtains on Marizanne Kapp's knock and ended the developing partnership.
Deepti Sharma soon registered her name among the wicket takers and sent Anneke Bosch back to the hut. The loss of the fourth wicket put South Africa under further pressure. Another wicket soon followed, but after that Laura Wolvaardt and Chloe Tryon got together keeping the team alive in the chase.
However, in the 36th over of the chase, Harmanpreet Kaur brought Kranti Gaud into the attack and she picked up the wicket of Laura Wolvaardt. This nearly sealed the game for India but Chloe Tryon was not ready to give up. She was struggling with cramps and yet continued to fight for her team.
Nadine de Klerk joined her in the middle and the duo gradually took South Africa towards the target. India managed to scalp the wicket of Chole Tryon at an important stage but that did not deter Klerk from scripting history. She remained unbeaten on 84 off 54 deliveries and helped SA to a three wicket win with seven balls remaining in the game.
India vs South Africa Live Score, Women's World Cup IND-W vs SA-W: There it is for Mandhana….
There you go….!!! Mandhana answers in style. Good length delivery at the off stump line. Smriti shimmies down and lofts that one over long-off for maximum. Signs that her touch is coming back and these are ominous signs for Wolvaardt and her girls.
India vs South Africa Live Score, Women's World Cup IND-W vs SA-W: Smriti Mandhana finding it hard in the middle
Smriti is not looking comfortable in the middle. She is looking fidgety and rusty, something unrelatable to her batting this year.
On the other hand, Pratika Rawal is in a brilliant touch. She is playing exquisite shots and keeping the momentum going from one end. The fact is, Rawal's fluency is so far hiding Mandhana's struggle in the middle.
India vs South Africa Live Score, Women's World Cup IND-W vs SA-W: First drama of the match
Well, well!!! Kapp bowled a jaffer. It was a good length at the off and middle stump line and that jagged back into the batter. Rawal was looking to defend that but she was beaten and was wrapped on the pads.
There was a big appeal for the leg before, but the umpire denied it. The South African team was confident about their appeal and went for the review. But as it turned out, Kapp had overstepped while delivering that.
A free hit and Rawal made full use of it slamming a boundary.
India vs South Africa Live Score, Women's World Cup IND-W vs SA-W: Mandhana, Rawal get a steady start
Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal have once more got India off to a good start. They have been steady with their technique and also maintained the momentum in the progress. The platform for a formidable total is being laid nicely by the two openers here.
India vs South Africa Live Updates, Women's World Cup IND-W vs SA-W: India off to a flier
That was a decent start by Kapp. She bowled the corrent areas. But Pratika was up to the mark as far as making most of the opportunities were concerned. Eight runs came of the first over and the wicket looks like a good one for batting.

India vs South Africa Live Score, Women's World Cup: Weather set to play a role – and it's raining in Vizag
India vs South Africa Live Score, Women's World Cup: Rain is very much in the forecast today, and just about an hour before play is set to begin, it's not great scenes from a grey and gloomy Vizag. Not just rain, but thunderstorms, which means much of this game could be delayed. Fingers crossed at least some amount of cricket can be played out today.
India vs South Africa Live Score, Women's World Cup: First match in Vizag this tournament
India vs South Africa Live Score, Women's World Cup: With games already being played in Guwahati, Indore, and Colombo, Vizag marks the fourth of the five venues for this World Cup. It hasn't been anything close to the high-scoring humdinger most expected – even the high-scoring venue of Indore has been relatively quiet. Vizag is another ground where runs do flow freely, but the overcast conditions have meant that bowlers have had plenty to work with. Today should be more of the same given the quality of pace on both ends, but it will be important to see how much of a role spin can play as the game wears on, especially as a controller of runs through the middle.
India vs South Africa Live Score, Women's World Cup: Brits vs Mandhana key battle of in-form batters
India vs South Africa Live Score, Women's World Cup: 2025 has belonged to Tazmin Brits and Smriti Mandhana. Brits has racked up four centuries in her last five innings, and has five total in 2025: she leads Mandhana by just one. Between these two batters showing such incredible form, who the teams rely on to provide the backbone of their batting pretty clear. Brits has arrived at the World Cup, but Mandhana has had a quiet couple of days – but she does like saving her best for the best.
Today provides an opportunity to watch the two best or at least most in-form batters in the world go bar for bar with each other, and it should hopefully prove to be the case. The player who performs better might well be the one who sees their team come away with the win.
India vs South Africa Live Score, Women's World Cup: South Africa recover from 69 all-out debacle to get on the board with win
India vs South Africa Live Score, Women's World Cup: South Africa's campaign, meanwhile, got off to the worst possible start: their batting folded in a calamitous manner against England, and that could have spelt disaster for their campaign. However, the Proteas ensured that was only one bad day, an aberration, and were right back to winning ways thanks to Tazmin Brits notching up a century against New Zealand. The South African team now on the board, and trying to keep up with the pace-setters.
India vs South Africa Live Score, Women's World Cup: But not entirely convincing victories
India vs South Africa Live Score, Women's World Cup: Even though they got the wins on the board, and that is what ultimately matters, they weren't as comprehensive as the scorelines suggest. Both times batting first, India needed a lower order barrage to bail them out after a top order collapse. They got away with it in the wins, but against the stronger teams, should expect to get punished if they do the same.
India vs South Africa Live Score, Women's World Cup: Two wins out of two for India
India vs South Africa Live Score, Women's World Cup: An important first step for India was to get two manageable fixtures out of the way: they are the strongest Asian team on paper, and opening up against two of their neighbours provided an opportunity to find some early momentum. They did just that, with two ultimately comfortable wins with big margins against Sri Lanka and Pakistan. On the board with results, India will want to ensure they stay in the upper reaches of the World Cup league stage table going forward.
India vs South Africa Live Score, Women's World Cup: HELLO AND WELCOME!
India vs South Africa Live Score, Women's World Cup: The 2025 Women's ODI World Cup caravan arrives on the eastern coast of India, where the city of Visakhapatnam will host its first game of the tournament. India, with two wins to begin their campaign, face off against South Africa, who recovered from a shellacking against England to notch a win in their second match.
