After toss, Harmanpreet said, "We wanted to bat because these wickets are a bit tricky. She will be fine but we have added an extra batter for today - Harleen in there, Shikha misses out. I think these wickets will help us, we are a very good bowling side."

After winning the toss, Maroof said, "We'd like to bat first. It is a dry wicket, won't change much so we'd like to put up a total. It is unlucky she is not here with us, but this is an opportunity for someone else to perform. We have the confidence because we won against India last time but conditions are different here."

Ahead of the match, Shastri said, "I know what happened in ‘83, when we won the World Cup, it opened up a Pandora's Box. The whole look at the game changed, you know, the way players were perceived, the way the game was perceived, the way people wanted. To pack the system, the way the monetisation of the sport changed overnight."

Radha will be crucial for India and the spinner bagged two wickets in India's warm-up vs Australia, followed by a dismissal against Bangladesh in their final practice match. She will be hoping to build on her form!

Taking to Twitter, Sachin revealed that he was eagerly waiting for the match to begin. He wrote, "India vs Pakistan is always a special game and the World Cup makes it even more special! Looking forward to the game. Go #TeamIndia!"

Toss is scheduled for 6:00 PM IST, with the match set to begin at 6:30 PM IST.

Without Mandhana, Harmanpreet will need to anchor India's innings vs Pakistan. In 146 T20Is, she has registered 2940 runs, with a highscore of 103. She has also bagged a ton and nine half-centuries. While bowling, she has bagged 32 wickets, including a four-wicket haul!

In T20Is, both sides have faced each other in 13 fixtures, with India leading 10-3. In T20 World Cup matches, India lead 4-2 and they also won their CWG fixture against Pakistan last year.

The tournament began on Friday, with Sri Lanka facing South Africa in the opener. The Lankans went on to win by three runs.

In the next match on Saturday, England defeated West Indies by seven wickets, followed by Australia cruising past New Zealand by 97 runs.

India will face Pakistan in the fourth fixture of the tournament, followed by Bangladesh taking on Sri Lanka.

The Indian unit heads into the World Cup, having lost the recent tri-series final against South Africa. 

They were then completely outplayed by Australia in the warm-up tie, but secured a win their previous match against Bangladesh, which was also a practice match.

The weather in Newlands, Cape Town looks promising and a full 20-over a side contest is expected. As per Accuweather, it will remain mostly sunny.

In another Group B tie, England defeated West Indies by seven wickets. West Indies batting first piled 135/7 in 20 overs. England (138/3) chased down the target in 14.3 overs.

India are clubbed in Group B. Pakistan, England, West Indies and Ireland are also pooled in the same group.

The great news for India is that Harmanpreet Kaur has fully recovered from the shoulder niggle, which she picked up during the Tri-series against West Indies and South Africa.

"Smriti has a finger injury and is still in recovery, so she won't play most likely. It's not a fracture and we're hopeful she will be available from the second game onwards." - Stand-in coach Hrishikesh Kanitkar

The Indian team vice-captain Smriti Mandhana will not be seen in action against Pakistan as she is yet to recover from a finger injury, which she sustained while fielding during the warm-up game against Australia earlier this week. 

The impact had forced her out of the second warm-up tie against Bangladesh.
