Kanwariyas vandalised a car that brushed past one of them in Delhi’s Moti Nagar area on August 7, 2018.

A group of kanwariyas smashed a car after it allegedly hit one of them in west Delhi’s Moti Nagar on Tuesday, police officials said.

A couple from Moti Nagar was in a Santro around 5.30 pm when the car hit a kanwariya, said Vijay Kumar, deputy commissioner of police (west).

“An argument ensued during which one among the couple slapped the kanwariya. That led to a group of kanwariyas turning violent,” said the DCP.

Two video clips showed kanwariyas using rods and stick to smash the car. They then overturned the car on the road.

The DCP said the couple was not hurt.
