"They were protesting against the introduction of the bill and wanted to meet Sonia Gandhi. When they were not allowed to go inside, one of them, identified as Narsingh Saras, doused his person with kerosene and was immediately stopped around 1:30 pm," said a senior police officer.
Police said the sixteen were whisked away to and detained at the Tughlak Road Police Station and were released in the evening.
