In pics: Driverless metro makes its way to Delhi tracks

After testing driverless metros for the past few months, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) finally launched the new swanky trains equipped with several advanced features. These metros will ply on sections of phase-III of the network, which will be operation by the end of 2016.

After testing driverless metros for the past few months, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) finally launched the new swanky trains equipped with several advanced features. These metros will ply on sections of phase-III of the network, which will be operation by the end of 2016.

DMRC had acquired these trains last year from a Korea-based manufacturer.

The six-coach train that was ferried to India by sea, arrived at Gujarat’s Mundhra port and was brought by road to Delhi on special trailers.
