Radar glitch mars Day 1

The first day of operations of the new Terminal 3 at the Indira Gandhi International Airport saw an embarrassing glitch in the Air Traffic Control's (ATC) radar system, which went on the blink for 24 minutes. HT reports.

The first day of operations of the new Terminal 3 at the Indira Gandhi International Airport saw an embarrassing glitch in the Air Traffic Control's (ATC) radar system, which went on the blink for 24 minutes.

The radar screens went blank between 5.50 pm and 6.14 pm after the software system that displays flight data crashed. ATC officials switched to the backup system but flights were hit.

Air India's Delhi-Tokyo flight AI 307 inaugurated the commercial operations amid a few other minor hiccups such as malfunctioning conveyor belts and elevators.
