The hunger strike will start at 9 am and will be indefinite.

The strike is part of a campaign called University Community for Democracy that boasts of more than 2000 supporters.

"Some students can't afford other accommodation. We demand an alternative accommodation without any extra costs," said Praveen Verma, a research scholar at DU, who is supporting the campaign.

It all started from a discussion on Facebook.

"Not only students but we have the support of teachers too ," said Verma.
