“Due to the arrival of wind in good measure, the fog drifted away. The clouds too moved from Delhi’s skies,” said the Duty Officer at the Safdarjung Met office.

“Thanks to the clear weather, we can be outdoors this weekend. The whole week has been really bad,” said Sudhanshu Kumar, a government official who lives in RK Puram.

Not all was well, though, with power cuts making an untimely comeback in city homes.

Residents complained of two to three hour-power cuts in Janakpuri, Dwarka and Tilak Nagar in the West. In South, Safdarjung Enclave has been experiencing a few short spells of power cuts since two days.

In the East, residents at Gandhinagar and Laxmi Nagar areas complained of longer outages.

“Without power, we cannot run water heaters and room heaters,” said Sonu Mehta, a resident of Gandhi Nagar.

The discoms said outages were due to a combination of local faults and planned outages for maintenance.
