IGNOU term-end examination begins tomorrow

About 6,78,239 students will be appearing in more than 250 academic programmes across the country. The examination will be organised in two shifts i.e. from 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm.

The Indira Gandhi National Open University will start its term-end examination from June 1. The examination will be held till June 23.

All candidates are required to bring their identity card issued by IGNOU or they will not be permitted to appear in the examination.

About 6,78,239 students will be appearing in more than 250 academic programmes across the country. The examination will be organised in two shifts i.e. from 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm. The University has established 926 examination centres, including 18 overseas ones.

Manorama Singh, IGNOU regional director, Lucknow, said 25 examination centres have been set up under Lucknow Region, of which eight have been established at central jail, Bareilly, district jails of Jhansi, Barabanki, Sitapur, Shahjahanpur, Kanpur Nagar, Hardoi and the Model Jail in Lucknow, where only jail inmates who have taken admissions in various programmes of IGNOU will appear for the examination.

The examination will also be held at JNPG College, Lucknow Christian Degree College, Lucknow, Kanpur, Bareilly, Raebareli, Lalitpur, Jhansi, Balrampur, Sitapur, Kanpur Dehat, Lakhimpur Kheri, Shahjahanpur, Gonda and Charkhari (Mahoba).

Singh said the examination hall tickets are available on IGNOU’s website www.ignou.ac.in. Those who have not yet received the hall tickets may download them from the website.

All candidates are required to bring their identity card issued by IGNOU or they will not be permitted to appear in the examination.

Reena Kumari, assistant regional director, said a special examination help desk will remain open during examination for helping candidates on any kind of difficulties relating to the examination.

Manorama advised all the students to reach their examination centre 30 minutes prior to the examination. No mobile phones or any other electronic gadgets would be allowed in the examination hall.
