UP Board Results 2019: Jail inmates excel, 77.42% pass in high school exam, 77.59% in intermediate

As per the results, prison inmates registered an overall pass percentage of 77.42 per cent in High School examinations while in Intermediate examination the same was pegged at 77.59 per cent.

Inmates of 25 different prisons, including two central jails of Varanasi and Bareilly, have excelled in UP Board’s High School and Intermediate examination, the results for which were declared at Board’s headquarters in Prayagraj on Saturday.

These inmates recorded an overall pass percentage of 77.42% in high school examinations and 77.59% in Intermediate examination.

A total of 209 prison inmates, including 206 males and 3 females, registered for the High School (119) and Intermediate (90) examination. Out of this 151 appeared in the twin exams including 93 in high school and 58 in intermediate exam.

A total of 72 jail inmates were declared successful in high school examination, including 71 males and a female inmate, and in intermediate exam 45 prisoners passed, including 43 males and two females.

In High School examination, inmates of ten jails including Firozabad, Mathura, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Shamli, Sitapur, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Bahraich and Varanasi secured cent per cent results while in intermediate examination inmates of nine jails including Mainpuri, Saharanpur, Bijnor, Badaun, Farukhabad, Amethi, Ayodhya, Bahraich and Maharajganj jails registered cent per cent result.

In high school examination, Bareilly central jail had maximum of 19 inmates registered for the exam while in intermediate examination Ghaziabad jail had maximum of 24 inmates, who had filled the examination forms.

In comparison to last year, the high school results of prison inmates recorded an improvement of 15.88% this year, while the intermediate results witnessed an improvement of 18.02%. In 2018 UP board examinations, prisoners pass percentage in high school exam was 61.54% while in intermediate examination it was 59.57%.
