West Bengal Election: Kulpi Assembly Constituency 2022

Kulpi is one of the 294 West Bengal Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the South Twenty Four Parganas district. People of Kulpi voted for West Bengal Assembly Election 2021 on April 6 and the result was declared on May 2.

Kulpi assembly constituency had 1,93,729 electors in 2016, out of which 1,00,414 were male voters and 93,314 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.7% votes.

What happened last time

In 2016, 6 candidates were contesting for Kulpi assembly constituency seat. Kulpi was one of 211 seats won by the Communist Party Of India (Marxist). All India Trinamool Congress's Jogaranjan Halder won the election by defeating Communist Party Of India (Marxist)'s Rejaul Haque Khan by a margin of 11,455 votes.

The top two candidates split 93.2% of votes between them. All India Trinamool Congress's Jogaranjan Halder got a total of 84,036 votes, while Communist Party Of India (Marxist)'s Rejaul Haque Khan secured 72,581 votes. Bharatiya Janta Party's candidate Nabendu Sundar Naskar secured 8,434 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 50.0%, 43.2% and 5.0% respectively.

In West Bengal Assembly election 2011, All India Trinamool Congress's Jogoranjan Halder outperformed Communist Party Of India (MARXIST)'s Sakuntala Paik by 18,279 votes.
