Masaba Gupta shares throwback pic of mom Neena Gupta from her 1984 film Utsav, fans say 'she's a stunner'

Veteran actor Neena Gupta's daughter Masaba Gupta posted a picture of her mother on Instagram. The throwback photo is from Neena's 1984 film Utsav.

Fashion designer and actor Masaba Gupta shared a throwback picture of mother Neena Gupta on Instagram. Sharing the photo, Masaba told her fans that the picture dates back to 1984. Masaba is Neena and former West Indies cricketer Viv Richards' daughter.

Sharing the photo, Masaba wrote, “@neena_gupta 1984 : Courtesy @zahankapoor ‘s Utsav stash. I wonder who took this photo.” In the picture, Neena is seen looking away from the camera. Celebrities such as Chitrangda Singh, Karishma Boolani, Zahan Kapoor dropped heart and heart shaped eyes emojis in the comments section of her post.

The photo shared by Masaba is from Neena's 1984 film Utsav, which was produced by Shashi Kapoor and directed by Girish Karnad. Apart from Neena, the film starred Shankar Nag, Shashi Kapoor, Rekha, Amjad Khan, Anuradha Patel, Shekhar Suman, Anupam Kher, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Annu Kapoor, Sanjana Kapoor and Kunal Kapoor.

One fan wrote, “I have seen this movie no of times one of my favourite." Another one said, “She's a stunner always loved her features.” Referring to Neena's character in Amazon Prime Show Panchayat, one said, “Pradhan ji kaafi alag lag rahin hain.” Comparing her to Rekha, who was Neena's co-star, one said, “She was sizzling in Utsav, even stole the scene from Rekha. I remember distinctively, I was looking at Neena Gupta in the scene where she was helping her get dresses... She literally stole the scene.” Fans also complimented the veteran actor by calling her ‘Exquisite’, ‘Gorgeous’, ‘Evergreen’, ‘Prettiest’ and ‘Breathtaking’.

Neena made her acting debut in 1982, with Saath Saath. The film starred Farooque Shaikh and Deepti Naval in lead roles. She later appeared in films such as Mandi (1983), Rihaee (1988), Drishti (1990) and Suraj Ka Satvan Ghoda (1992). She also did a few international films such as The Deceivers (1988), In Custody (1993), and Cotton Mary (1999), as well as popular TV shows like Mirza Ghalib (1989) and Saans (1998).

Neena was last seen Amazon Prime's Panchayat. She will be seen next in Vikas Bahl's Goodbye, which will also star actors Amitabh Bachchan and Rashmika Mandanna. She also has Sooraj Barjatya's Uunchai in the pipeline. The film will star actors Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Parineeti Chopra and Boman Irani.
