Actor Priyanka Chopra has every reason to celebrate - apart from the fact that her films are turning out to be successes, her recently released memoir, Unfinished, is also being appreciated. On Tuesday, she shared a picture of her book featured on a New York City billboard.
Sharing her happiness, she wrote: "#Unfinished on a six-storey @amazonbooks billboard in NYC outside of Penn Station ... Surreal! So thrilled to be included in this #WomensHistoryMonth celebration to amplify women’s voices. What makes it more special is that it’s exactly a month since I released Unfinished!"+
Several Bollywood actors congratulated Priyanka in the comments section of her post. Hrithik Roshan, her co-star in Krrish, wrote: "Amazing." Dia Mirza and her Dostana director Tarun Mansukhani dropped a bunch of emojis.
In her book, Priyanka touched upon a host of subjects ranging from her teenage years in the US, winning the Miss World title, and her struggle in Bollywood and Hollywood.
According to Zoom, Priyanka wrote about an incident during the filming of a seductive song sequence that required her to remove her clothes, one item at a time. Priyanka had asked the director if she should wear extra layers, so that she wouldn't be 'down to skin way too fast'.
"The director suggested I speak to my stylist, so I called him and briefly explained the situation, then passed the phone to the director. Standing right in front of me, the director said: "Jo bhi ho, chaddiyan dikhni chahiyen. Nahi toh log picture kyon dekhne aayenge?" which translates as "whatever happens, panties should be seen. Otherwise, why would people come to watch the movie?" Priyanka wrote in her book. Subsequently, she quit the film.
