Tyler Duckworth cause of death: What happened to 'The Challenge' winner? Mother shares details
The news was made public by his mother, Joni, who addressed Tyler Duckworth's death in a Facebook post on Thursday.
Tyler Duckworth, a six-time participant on reality series The Challenge and a former cast member of MTV’s The Real World: Key West, has died at 44.
A report from U.S. Sun said Duckworth was found unresponsive inside a bathroom. North Dakota authorities confirmed that the television personality died on Tuesday, August 11.
The news was later made public by his mother, Joni, who addressed his death in a Facebook post on Thursday, August 13.
"My son, Tyler, passed away earlier this week," she wrote.

No official cause of death has been established so far. Joni indicated that the family is still waiting for more information before making arrangements for his services.
"Cause of death has yet to be determined. I will post on Facebook about services as soon as his dad and I figure it out," she wrote.
Authorities have reportedly categorized the case as an unattended death, meaning Duckworth was not found by someone who had witnessed the incident.
A source close to Duckworth told the outlet that the reality star had recently undergone a surgical procedure, although there is currently no confirmation that it was connected to his unexpected death.

Duckworth’s last public appearance
Duckworth’s final known public outing came on July 31, when he attended the Challenge Mania event in Minneapolis with fellow MTV personalities Rachel Robinson, Tina Barta, Mark Long and Brad Fiorenza.
He later reflected on the appearance in an Instagram post shared on August 2.
“So proud to represent my hometown of Minneapolis along with these other challenge legends,” Tyler posted to Instagram on August 2.
Tyler’s journey on The Challenge
Duckworth made his The Challenge debut in 2006 and went on to become a notable figure in the franchise. He captured victories in Cutthroat in 2010 and Rivals in 2011.
Following a decade away from the series, Duckworth returned in 2021 for All Stars 2. He remained in the competition until the sixth week before being eliminated.
Duckworth’s move to North Dakota
Away from reality television, Duckworth’s life had also taken him away from California. After previously living in West Hollywood, he relocated to North Dakota and had been working as a teacher at a local middle school in recent years.
