King of Kotha teaser: Dulquer Salmaan plays a vigilante in the land of gangsters. Watch
Dulquer Salmaan is unveiled only in the last 10 seconds of the King of Kotha teaser, that runs for more than one-and-a-half minutes.
Dulquer Salmaan returns to Malayalam movies in yet another action role. However, unlike Salute, Rosshan Andrrews' crime thriller from last year, this time he isn't playing a cop. In Abhilash Joshiy's directorial debut King of Kotha, Dulquer plays a vigilante in a place called Kotha, infamous as the land of gangsters. About the teaser
Dulquer had unveiled the film's poster on February 3, on the occasion of completing 11 years in the film industry. Almost five months later, the teaser was unveiled on June 28.
The teaser introduces the viewers to the land of Kotha, infamous for its lawlessness and gangster rule. A voiceover of Dulquer claims the people of Kotha have been waiting for their ‘king,’ a messiah who can save them from the evils of the land. However, Dulquer's face is unveiled only at the fag end of the teaser, in the last 10 seconds of the one-and-a-half-minute-plus teaser, after a grand entry. He looks intense as he gears up to seek justice for his people.
About King of Kotha
The gangster film is co-produced by Dulquer's Wayfarer Films and Zee Studios. The movie is a gangster film that is touted to be a complete entertainment package for both youth and families. Aishwarya Lekshmi has been roped in to play the female lead in the movie.
In an earlier interview with Kochi Times, Abhilash spoke about working with Dulquer. “Dulquer was the obvious choice for me because we grew up together and he is the person I am closest to in the industry. I pitched it to him first and he liked it and said he wanted to do it. It is a gangster film that has romance and songs and is a complete entertainment package that will appeal to youth and families,” he said.
