He was among 23 people, including former US president Bill Clinton and CNN reporter Anderson Cooper, knighted by Haitian President Rene Preval in Port-Au-Prince Monday, reports imdb.com.
They were presented with medals and certificates.
The Milk star has been a regular visitor to Haiti and a major part of the recovery effort, helping to set up relief camps for more than 1.5 million Haitians still homeless six months after the quake.
