In his complaint, Manuel D stated that his immediate neighbour dismantled the original house and began construction in February this year.

He alleged that while demolishing the house, the use of drilling, iron-cutting machines and bulldozers caused irreparable damages to one side of his house, which had developed several cracks and holes.

Manuel has also cited that the demolition of the house by his neighbour and fresh construction was in violation of the clause (17) mentioned in the conveyance deed. "This is complete violation of the conveyance deed (Clause 17) that we all signed with the builder," said Manuel

"The deep excavation for the basement also exposed the foundation of my house," said Manuel in his complaint.

Meanwhile, the houseowner named in the complaint said he had got the building plan approved from the town planning department.

"I have assured Manuel to compensate him as per the law," he said on anonymity.
