A rare 16-foot long King Cobra was rescued from Odisha’s Similipal Tiger Reserve on Wednesday night.

The villagers immediately informed forest guards operating in the Kaptipada Range, after which Krushna Chandra Gochhayat, the rescue team head, reached Antapur village and retrieved the snake from a house it was hiding in.
The snake was captured after an hour and handed over to the Kaptipada Range office. It was later set free.
