2 women stabbed to death for objecting to relative’s harassment
The police have registered an FIR against seven people in the case and one person has been arrested.
The mother and aunt of a 12-year-old girl differently abled girl were stabbed to death, while another relative was injured in Bihar’s Gaya for allegedly protesting a sexual harassment attempt, police said on Saturday.

A case under Pocso and several sections of the Indian Penal Code has been lodged against seven people in connection with the case, an official familiar with the development said, adding that one accused has been arrested.
According to the police, on March 11, the girl was on her way to relieve herself in an agricultural field when one Mukesh Paswan (22) allegedly tried to misbehave with her but she escaped, an official said. She later informed her mother and aunt, who decided to warn Paswan before approaching the police.
Both the women reached Paswan’s house, but an argument ensued after the accused’s brother Rakesh and others joined in, said the official. One of the women slapped Paswan, following which one of them stabbed the two women. They were rushed to the hospital by local residents, but succumbed to their injuries on the way. Another relative of the girl is currently undergoing treatment at the Magadh Medical College Hospital.
“An FIR has been lodged against seven persons including male and female. One of the named accused has been arrested. Raids are on to nab other culprits,” said senior superintendent of police, Harpreet Kaur.
The FIR has been lodged under sections 302, 307 and 354 of the Indian Penal Code and the Pocso Act on the basis of the statement of the injured relative.
