PM Modi in Varanasi highlights: Projects worth ₹1,780 crore launched

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday laid foundation stones and inaugurated 28 development projects worth over ₹1,780 crore in his parliamentary constituency of Varanasi.

Modi launched TB-Mukt Panchayat initiative, the official pan-India rollout of a shorter preventive treatment and family-centric care model for TB and release of India’s Annual TB Report 2023.

A resolution was taken by the World Health Organisation in 2018 to make the world TB-free by 2030. In this connection, PM Modi took forward the resolution to make India TB-free by 2025 -- today, we are near it: UP CM Yogi Adityanath at 'One World TB Summit' in Varanasi, reports ANI.

Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, the Prime Minister will dedicate 19 drinking water schemes, which will benefit more than 3 lakh people of 63 gram panchayats.

To further strengthen the rural drinking water system, PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone of 59 drinking water schemes under the Mission.

Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of the Passenger Ropeway from Varanasi Cantt station to Godowlia. The cost of the project is estimated to be around Rs. 645 crore. The ropeway system will be 3.75 km in length with five stations. This will facilitate ease of movement for the tourists, pilgrims and residents of Varanasi.
