31 get gallantry awards

GENERAL OFFICER Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Central Command, Lieutenant General O. P. Nandrajog felicitated 31 soldiers including 4 widows whose husbands laid down their lives for the country with gallantry awards in the investiture ceremony at the mercury hall of 1STC here on the Army Day.

The Yudh Seva Medal went to Brigadier Chandra Man Rai while Sena medals were given away to Major General Birham Pal Singh Panwar, Colonel Tinaikar Shailesh Sadashiv, Major Amiy Kumar Tripathi (posthumously), Major Zameer Ahmed Khan, Major Anoop Singh Gill, Major Surender Pawan, Captain Niraj Shrivastava, Captain Bharat Singh, Captain Manoj Gurung, Captain Daniel Kholi, Lieutenant Romel Biswas, Lieutenant Rajendra Singh, Havildar Chandra Shekhar (posthumously), Havildar Jagmohan Singh (posthumously), Havildar Satpal Singh, Havildar Jai Singh, Lance Naik Balwant Singh, Lance Naik Ram Kumar Thapa, Sepoy Prakash Singh (posthumously), Sepoy Ashutosh Kumar, Rifleman Mohd. Javid and Granedier Dadwal Sanjeev Jashwant Singh. Brigadier Chhtra Bahadur

Thapa was decorated with bar to Vishisht Seva medal, while the Vishisht Seva medals went to Brigadier Rajeeva Raj Nautiyal, Brigadier Kanwar Pratap Singh Rana, Brigadier Sushil Kumar Dubey (Retd.), Brigadier Triveni Prasad Shukla (Retd.), Colonel Gurcharan Singh, Lieutenant Colonel Vijay Singh and Naib Subedar Tarundeep Rai.
