Even before the much-hyped Umrao Jaan hit the theatres, the film is in trouble!The Awadhi capital of UP, Lucknow, has objected to 'Umrao Jaan' (Aishwarya Rai) with a cap in J.P. Dutta's version, based on Mirza Hadi Ruswa's novel.

According to sources, the objection comes because the tawaifs (nautch girls) of 19th century never wore a cap as, per the records.

The idea was given by J.P. Dutta's wife, though the dress designer Anna Singh is being blamed for it.
