Boys outshine girls

RESULTS OF the CPMT-2006 entrance exam were declared on Sunday in which boys outshined girls. From UP 16,109 candidates and 546 candidates from Uttaranchal cleared the test.

RESULTS OF the CPMT-2006 entrance exam were declared on Sunday in which boys outshined girls. From UP 16,109 candidates and 546 candidates from Uttaranchal cleared the test.

Of the total number of candidates who qualified in the exam, more than 50 per cent are boys. First two ranks, however, went to girls (Snigdha Jain, Barabanki, and Shilpi Singh, Rae Bareli) while Om Prakash Yadav, Kanpur, secured the third place on the merit list. Boys secured the next five places also on the merit list.

On the 9th place it is a girl but the next 18 selected candidates are boys.

In all 81,358 candidates took the exam on May 21. In all 78,763 candidates from UP and 2580 candidates from Uttaranchal took the exam. Out of total candidates 48,371 were males while 32,987 were females.

Out of these 14,000 were SC candidates, 5593 ST candidates and 29294 were OBC candidates. In UP out of 16109 selected candidates, 10296 are boys. In Uttaranchal, out of 546 candidates, 261 are boys.

The results are available on the official web site of the , the official web site of our university, said Prof CP Govila, the vice chancellor of the UP King George’s University of Dental Sciences that conducted the exam.
