Coal status check by Sept 15

The government has asked the inter-ministerial group (IMG) to complete a status check on all the allotted captive coal blocks by September 15. Many of these blocks face de-allocation. HT reports.

The government has asked the inter-ministerial group (IMG) to complete a status check on all the allotted captive coal blocks by September 15. Many of these blocks face de-allocation.

Coal secretary SK Srivastava told the IMG that the PMO expressed concern over no action having yet been initiated. The IMG, scheduled to meet on Monday, will examine the progress of steel and power projects related to 58 coal blocks.
