The Congress on Monday rallied behind Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit over the alleged suicide in Tihar jail by an accused in the rape and murder of a woman in Delhi on December 16, 2012, and dismissed the contention that she should be held responsible for it.

The Congress on Monday rallied behind Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit over the alleged suicide in Tihar jail by an accused in the rape and murder of a woman in Delhi on December 16, 2012, and dismissed the contention that she should be held responsible for it.

“Not at all… I don’t think the chief minister is responsible. Where is the question of moral responsibility when somebody has committed suicide,” party spokesman Rashid Alvi said.

He said an inquiry had been set up and the truth will be revealed in due time.
