THE SCHEDULED inauguration of Gwalior Trade Fair (GTF) here tomorrow by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan appears to have run into rough weather with Congressmen threatening to stage demonstration over missing of Madhavrao Scindia’s name in the invitation cards.

A Congress delegation led by DCC president Prakash Khandelwal met GTF chairman Anurag Basal Friday afternoon. The delegation members pointed out that Scindia family was instrumental in setting up the fair 101 years ago.

Subsequently, the State Government re christened it Madhavrao Scindia Vyapar Mela Pradhikaran. Thereafter, the trade fair authority has been using the same name in all its communications including allotment of shops etc. Khandelwal termed the omission of Madhavrao Scindia’s name in the invitation card as outrageous act and deliberate attempt to lower prestigious of the illustrious family.

Beside this is also an insult of the Gwalior citizens who regard Scindia family as true public servant and an architect of this region, the delegation members said. Congress will stage protest demonstration tomorrow in front of the Chief Minister during his scheduled visit here tomorrow, warned Khandelwal.
