Elton John mulls another musical

Sir Elton John is planning a new musical - a stage version of Pedro Almodovar’s movie Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.

The flamboyant singer's recent Broadway production Lestat a £7 million musical flopped last week.

Elton has approached Almodovar about the 1988 film, and admits he is at "the ideas stage" of a production.

"It's such a colourful story and different from what I've done before. I could have a lot of fun with something like that," Contactmusic quoted the singer as saying.

Elton said that he and songwriting partner Bernie Taupin will continue to work on Lestat until they can make it a hit. He says, "You never stop working on a musical. Even after it's opened."
