Hollywood’s game for gaming
Here’s a look at the three best and three worst video game-inspired movies....
The newly released posters of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, a film inspired by a video game by the same name, have given both gaming and movie-buffs plenty of reasons to cheer.

We take a look at three of the best and the worst video game-inspired films.
Game on
Resident Evil Series: All three Resident Evil flicks have managed to silence cribbing critics and gone on to make millions
worldwide because of the sleek, edge-of-the-seat narrative and camera work.
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider: Although not the best game adaptation, Angelina Jolie in hotpants proved good enough to redeem the film.
Mortal Kombat: Its sequel may have been a disappointment, but the original 1995 film caught the essence of the fighting game it was inspired from, flawlessly.
Flop show
House of the Dead: Widely rejected by critics and fans alike, the film wasn’t half as good as the survival horror game.
Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within:
Unlike Final Fantasy VII Advent Children, this film was a box-office disaster, and a big blow to Sony.
Doom and Street Fighter: The films were as bad as the games are good. Enough said!
