Talking to reporters after the general body meeting of Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) held here today, Scindia said that the incident of Bajrang Dal workers occupying the chair of police station in-charge in Indore on Saturday and similar incidents in other parts of the State clearly indicated that. Asked whether the situation warranted Central intervention, he said that in a federal structure, law and order is a state subject and it should be taken care of effectively.
On the issue of Central assistance to the flood affected people of the State, Scindia said that earlier at the time of hailstorm in the State, Centre had given assistance of Rs 185 crore and added more assistance would be given soon to deal with the problem. To another query, Scindia said that Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi should come forward to lead the youth of the country and should not just confine himself to Uttar Pradesh.
“Why only just Uttar Pradesh, the youth of the nation is looking towards Rahul Gandhi to lead them,” Scindia said when asked whether Rahul should focus on UP and lead the party from front in view of the forthcoming elections in that state.
