Kolar water supply to be hit for three days

BMC administration claims water supply will be restored by the evening of Thursday. But going by past experiences, it is likely that the water supply may be delayed for another day.

Regular water supply from Kolar Filtration Plant could be made possible by Saturday morning. Over 60 per cent of the City’s population is dependent on the Kolar supply system.

According to official information, there are six leakages in the gravity main of Kolar pipeline. Besides, officials also detected 10 leakages in the feeder main (branch) pipeline. The affected areas include Arera Colony, Shahpura, 1,100 Quarters, Nehru Nagar, Kotra Sultanabad, Govindpura, Janata Colony, Indrapuri, Sonagiri, Chandbarh, Moti Masjid area, Ginnauri, Shastri Nagar, Jawahar Chowk, South TT Nagar, PGBT, Narialkheda, Ibrahimganj, JP Nagar, Putlighar, Arif Nagar, Saket Nagar, Shakti Nagar, Barkhedi, Jehangirabad, Subhash Nagar, Ashoka Garden, Bal Vihar and others. BMC administration said alternative arrangements of water supply would be made in the affected areas.
