Over 50 ultras triggered a mini cylinder blast badly damaging the tracks at a place between Kurhni and Turkey railway stations late last night, Additional Director General of Police (Rail) S K Bhardwaj said.

Rail traffic in the section which was disrupted for more than 3 hours as a result of blast, resumed at 4 AM after the railway authorities repaired the tracks, he said. Maoists had called a 24-hour bandh in Tirhut area to protest the arrest of their 'commander'.

The bandh ended last night. The Naxalites had yesterday burnt seven trucks and some equipment belonging to a private telecom operator in Muzaffarpur and east Champaran districts to enforce the bandh.
