About 300 ANMs and male health workers, who completed less than 20 family planning cases in the last nine months, have been warned to improve their target. On the instructions of the district magistrate, a meeting of ANMs was convened at the SRN Hospital auditorium on Saturday.

Dr Singh warned the ANMs and male health workers to complete their target within the next three months. He said the sterilisation target should be achieved by the end of March. “Strict action will be taken against those workers who fail to achieve the target by the end of the year,” he said.

DM to cancel projects of 5 NGOs
DISTRICT MAGISTRATE Amrit Abhijat has decided to cancel the work allotted to five NGOs, which have failed to complete the projects within the stipulated period of the Cleanliness Drive and Nirmal Gram Abhiyan.

Addressing the Cleanliness Drive and Nirmal Gram Abhiyan review meeting, the DM directed the district panchayati raj officer to prepare a comprehensive information, education and communication strategy for the drive.

“Workshops will be held at the district level to motivate officers to complete the target within a set period. Training programmes will also be held for pradhans and motivators at block levels,” he said. The DM said despite repeated reminders, five NGOs involved in the drive had not presented their bill vouchers and progress reports. These NGOs would be debarred from carrying out further work under the drive, he said.
