Pervez's speech was encouraging: India

India says it was encouraged by Pak President's UNGA speech that was marked by absence of strident campaign on the Kashmir issue.

India has said that it was encouraged by President Pervez Musharraf's remarks on Indo-Pak relations in his speech at the UN General Assembly and stressed that the fulfilment of Pakistan's assurance to end cross-border terrorism from territory under its control would be of great importance.

"We have seen President Musharraf's remarks on India-Pakistan relations. We are encouraged that Pakistan remains committed to the ongoing dialogue process," External Affairs Ministry spokesman Navtej Sarna told reporters in New York on Wednesday after Musharraf's speech at the UNGA, which was marked by absence of strident campaign on Kashmir issue and India-bashing.
