MMA general secretary and the main Opposition leader in Pakistan, Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman has blamed his country's President Pervez Musharraf's "wrong and detrimental foreign policy" for Pakistan's "global isolation".

He also blamed the rulers of backing and protecting all the wrong moves made by the US in its recent operation in Wazirstan and Bajaur incidents.

The Maulana was addressing a public rally in Quetta held against the publication of blasphemous cartoons of The Prophet.

Other religious leaders expressed their dismay at the way Pakistan touted its friendship with the US and other western powers who were quite brazenly inclined towards India.

Pointing out the other destructive measures the US and its allies were carrying out in Iraq and Afghanistan, he said the current bombings of Holy Shrines of Iraq and contriving the issue towards Sunni elements had created quite a sectarian strife in that country.
