The skeletal remains are suspected to be of poor people whose family members could not afford a funeral, police said.

The area has been used as a dumping ground by the corporation since decades, officials said.

The skeletons, six of which were found on Saturday and the remaining on last Thursday, have been sent to the forensic laboratory here for tests, they said.
