Swadhinta Fellowships announced

DR SUDHIR Ranjan Singh, Dr Akhilesh Sharma, Ghanshyam Saxena and Tejpal Singh have been selected for the Swadhinta Fellowships of the Swaraj Sansthan Sanchanalaya, Department of Culture of MP Government, for the year 2005-06. The fellowships are worth Rs one lakh each.

DR SUDHIR Ranjan Singh, Dr Akhilesh Sharma, Ghanshyam Saxena and Tejpal Singh have been selected for the Swadhinta Fellowships of the Swaraj Sansthan Sanchanalaya, Department of Culture of MP Government, for the year 2005-06. The fellowships are worth Rs one lakh each.

The selections were after the selection panel led by the Principal Secretary, Culture, went through 118 proposals received.
The other eminent personalities on the selection panel were DG of the Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism Achyutanand Mishra, Commissioner, Museum, Archives and Archaeology Pankaj Raag, additional Commissioner Tribal Welfare Anju Singh Baghel and Director of the Swaraj Sansthan Sanchanalaya Shreeram Tiwari.

The fellowship has been given to Dr Sudhir Ranjan, assistant Professor of Hindi with Government College, Berasia; and Akhilesh Sharma, assistant professor, Government College, Satna, for studying various aspects of the importance of nationalism in freedom struggle and present context.

Ghanshyam Saxena, senior journalist for has received the fellowship for studying the various aspects of the popular perceptions of the Jungle Satyagraha in Betul, Seoni and surrounding areas and Tejpal Singh, journalist, for studying the context of nationalism, special study of Bhil community especially in Jhabua region and the positive changes in the social structure following the tribal struggle in post 1857 days.
