The Malaysian Cricket Board has decided to offer huge discounts on ticket prices to woo the crowds to the stadium for the ongoing tri-series being played at the Kinrara Oval here.

The tickets for the covered stands of the stadium had been priced at a whopping 222 ringetts (Rs. 2804 approx) while it was 122 R (Rs. 1,541 approx) for the uncovered stands. The high priced tickets were blamed for the nearly empty stadiums witnessed during the first two ODIs.

The cricket authorities hence decided to slash the prices by 40 per cent to draw the public. Even on Saturday, for the match between India and Australia, they allowed free-of-cost entry to some school children.

However, there was some encouragement for the organisers on Saturday as the stands were nearly full for the first time in the series, the 4,000-crowd comprising mostly ethnic Indians.
