STATE ENERGY Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya today ordered suspension of a superintending engineer of the MP Power Generation Company (MPGENCO) for violating decorum of service. According to sources, the SE, D C Chopra posted at Sarni (Betul), had reached Vijayvargiya’s house this morning to meet the minister without appointment.

He went into Vijayvargiya’s drawing room and seated himself on a sofa along with some MLAs, as the minister was not at home that time. When Vijayvargiya returned after some time, Chopra demanded that he be promoted. That annoyed the minister who was already unhappy by the official’s unbecoming conduct.

Subsequently, Vijayvargiya asked energy secretary I C P Keshari to take necessary action towards Chopra’s suspension. Keshari informed the officials of the MPGENCO in Jabalpur about the same.

Following that, MPGENCO additional secretary issued D C Chopra’s suspension orders that were received at Bhopal late tonight at about 9.30 pm, the sources said.
