After stunning at Billboard Music Awards, Priyanka Chopra goes bold for Vogue
Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra Jonas on Tuesday shared a photo from her latest cover shoot with Vogue Australia, the actor was earlier called out by Instagram watchdog Diet Sabya for wearing racist and homophobic luxury designer label Dolce and Gabbana for the BMAs 2021.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas looked absolutely stunning as she walked the red carpet at the Billboard Music Awards 2021. Priyanka wore a sheer beige gown embellished with crystals and featuring a thigh-high slit. Priyanka wore a body hugging nude bodysuit over which the dress fell like second skin making it seem like the embellishments were stuck to PeeCee's skin. The stunning gown was a creation from luxury designer label Dolce and Gabbana and the waist of the said gown was cinched with the brand's iconic metallic belt which has been seen on several celebrities including Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez. While Priyanka looked stunning in the gown featuring a plunging neckline and thigh-high slit, her look was criticized for completely different reasons. The Sky Is Pink actor's look was styled by Law Roach, however fans were very displeased by the stylist as well as the actor's decision to wear Dolce and Gabbana, which has a history of indulging in racism, sexism and homophobia.
Self appointed industry watchdog, Instagram page Diet Sabya, called out Priyanka's look and wrote, which calls out plagiarism by fashion brands took to their Instagram stories to call out the actress. They wrote, “Not Pri wearing a dress by the very problematic, racist and homophobic Dolce and Gabbana," and continued, “Styled by @luxurylaw, so the disappointment is astronomical. Law Roach is an American stylist who judges the Ballroom show Legendary. He is considered to be an icon in the field of fashion, and for his activism for social issues.
While Priyanka didn't address the issue, she did share a photo from her latest cover shoot with Vogue Australia. The Isn't It Romantic actor took to Instagram and shared a stunning snap from the magazine's latest cover. In the photo, The White Tiger star can be seen posing on the cover in a white edgy Chanel dress with a black border and plunging neckline. Priyanka sported sleek straight hair and neutral makeup for her powerful look. Along with glimpses of the cover, Priyanka also shared a couple of black and white pictures of herself dressed in monochrome figure-hugging ensembles.

The cover starring Priyanka drew focus on her extensive efforts in raising funds for India amid increasing coronavirus cases and deaths and lack of medical supplies, vaccines and oxygen concentrators. The actor and philanthropist has been working tirelessly to help India amid the Covid-19 crisis. The Quantico star along with her husband Nick Jonas announced a fundraiser in association with GiveIndia and urged the global community to help India by making donations, funds of which would go towards providing everyday meals, healthcare, physical infrastructure including Covid care centres, isolation centres and oxygen generation plants, medical equipment, vaccine support and mobilization.
The fashion magazine's page posted the cover to their Instagram feed and wrote, "The actor, entrepreneur and goodwill ambassador is aware of the power her international platforms have—she has been using them to spark conversations around the things that matter. Spending the past few weeks speaking directly to her 63 million Instagram followers about India’s devastating spike in Covid-19 infections, Chopra Jonas has now raised more than $1 million for much-needed medical resources through her fundraiser with GiveIndia. “Simply put, no one is safe until we are all safe,” she stresses. “As a global community, we have to be willing to step in and help where we can... That is my belief.”"
Priyanka's fundraiser Together For India has managed to raise around ₹7.5 crore until now and has more and more donations coming in from all across the world to help India during this health crisis.
On the professional front, Priyanka was last seen in the 2021 Netflix film, The White Tiger'. She currently has some exciting projects lined up including Matrix 4, Text For You, and Citadel.
