Inside a boutique retreat rooted in authentic ayurveda and yoga
Here’s an honest look at Raga Svara, a boutique wellness retreat where Ayurveda and yoga shape a structured, immersive stay.
If you are tired of chasing itineraries and actually want to take a pause, Raga Svara is the place to be. Nestled on the outskirts of Rajkot, this wellness retreat is a perfect place to relax, rejuvenate, and reflect amidst nature. Spanning 30 acres of land, this place is home to some of the numerous plants and birds humming in a rhythm.

From personalized ayurvedic treatments to yoga sessions, meditation, and several activities, this place is quiet enough to disconnect, though the structured schedule keeps you engaged through the day. With the farm-to-table concept, this retreat ensures each meal soothes your soul and satiates your taste buds.

Take a tour of the campus
Raga Svara integrates luxury and wellness, which is well evident in the entire campus. Each corner is thoughtfully designed with ecology at the centre. There are garden spaces, outdoor open spaces, fruit orchards, vegetable gardens, rock gardens, zen gardens, and more. The campus also features 22 rooms, a meditation centre, a restaurant, a swimming pool, a yoga centre, a library, and therapy rooms. Each room at the property boasts crisp, minimal furniture to ensure a sense of calm in every possible way. Each room opens into a balcony, which is surrounded by greenery throughout.

Facilities at Raga Svara
During the stay, most activities revolve around a fixed wellness schedule. This includes expert consultations, Ayurvedic therapies, yoga sessions, and guided activities like meditation or art therapy. Meals are part of the program, and airport transfers from Rajkot are included, which makes logistics easier given the location.

Review of Raga Svara
Starting the day with a yoga session, followed by a rejuvenating breakfast and Prakriti test (expert's consultation). Based on the consultation, they give a personalized treatment plan that includes Ayurvedic therapies. I was recommended Sarvanga Abhyanga (a full-body massage with medicated oils) and Shirodhara (a process in which medicated oil is slowly dripped onto the forehead) to help cope with stress and anxiety. While Abhyanga felt physically relaxing, Shirodhara stood out for its calming effect — it takes a session or two to get used to the sensation, but it does help slow things down mentally. Apart from these therapies, I also got the chance to try their yoga, meditation, Mandala art therapy, and cuisine sessions. That said, the schedule can feel quite packed at times, especially if you’re not used to following a routine on vacation. This is less of a free-flow retreat and more of a guided wellness program.
Food and dining
It’s a common misconception that satvik food often lacks taste, but the meals at Raga Svara totally changed the perception. Every meal was meant to taste better than the previous one. From digestive shots to Tri-dosha Buttermilk, lavish thalis to fruit platter, every meal was prepared in a way that it ensures healing from within. They elevated the dining experience by giving an Italian and Chinese twist to simple meals, making it worth trying. There’s a clear focus on clean eating—no refined sugar or flour—which works well if you’re committed to the program, but might feel restrictive if you’re used to richer flavours. Being a sweet tooth, I loved their dessert that tasted heavenly even without sugar.

How to reach
Raga Svara is around 45-minutes drive from Rajkot International Airport, which is a very well-connected airport and has regular flights from Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore. It is also connected with the Rajkot junction and the Rajkot-Bhavnagar Highway. While connectivity is decent, the slightly remote location adds to the quiet — but also means you’re largely staying within the property during your visit.
