‘Probe inmates’ assault charge’
The Bombay High Court has directed Thane sessions judge to probe a complaint by prisoner Ravi Solanki that the police assaulted him and other inmates on the way to court.

The Bombay High Court has directed Thane sessions judge to probe a complaint by prisoner Ravi Solanki that the police assaulted him and other inmates on the way to court.
Solanki alleged they were assaulted in a van and then taken to the Vasai police station and beaten up again.
Senior lawyer Niteen Pradhan will assist in the probe.
The police denied the allegation, saying the prisoners became violent and beat up a policeman.
