Tutor held for molesting 11-yr-old girl

The victim and accused, Dilip Dube, a third-year Commerce student of Vivek College at Goregaon, are residents of sector no. 8 in Charkop, Kandivli (West).

On August 13 evening, Dube allegedly molested the Class 6 student when she was at his residence for tuitions.

Police said Dube’s brother, who was sleeping on the loft in the house, but was unaware of what was happening.

The girl did not tell her parents about the incident, but refused to go for tuitions the next day.

“Initially the parents did not question her, but when she refused to go to Dube’s house for tuitions for several days, they asked her what the problem was,” said a police officer.

On Tuesday, the girl finally told her parents about the incident and they registered a complaint.

“After the victim’s parents lodged a complaint with the police on Tuesday, we arrested Dube for outraging the modesty of a woman,” said Musa Shaikh, assistant commissioner of police, (Malwani division).

Dube has been remanded to judicial custody.
