Hola Mohalla celebrations begin
Thousands of devotees thronged various historic gurdwaras of Anandpur Sahib and Kiratpur Sahib, including Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, to pay obeisance on the second phase of the annual Hola Mohalla festival that began on Saturday. The first phase of the celebrations at Kiratpur Sahib had concluded on Friday.
Thousands of devotees thronged various historic gurdwaras of Anandpur Sahib and Kiratpur Sahib, including Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, to pay obeisance on the second phase of the annual Hola Mohalla festival that began on Saturday. The first phase of the celebrations at Kiratpur Sahib had concluded on Friday.
As devotees took the holy dip in the sarovar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, a large number of langars (community kitchens) have also been organised on roads leading to the venue by various organisations and villagers. Religious diwans (discourses) have also begun at the Takht and various other places in the town, which has been beautifully decorated for the occasion.
The district administration has diverted traffic on some routes for smooth movement on the national highway passing through the district.
Conferences of several political parties, including the SAD and the AAP, are scheduled for Sunday, subject to permission from the poll panel. The Congress has cancelled its conference.
