MUMBAI: Mahesh Mangaonkar overcame Ravi Dixit 11-9, 11-9, 13-11 in 37 minutes to clinch the men’s crown for the third successive time in the 41st Bombay Gymkhana Maharashtra State Open Squash Championships.

Tanvi Khanna overcame Urwashi Joshi 11-9, 11-3, 8-11, 13-11 in the women’s final.

Final results -- Men: M Mangaonkar bt R Dixit 11-9, 11-9, 13-11; Boys U-19: Yash Bhargava bt Aryaman Adik 11-6, 11-8, 8-11, 13-11; U-17: Veer Chotrani bt Tushar Shahani 11-9, 6-11, 7-11, 11-6, 11-9; U-15: Neel Joshi bt Prithvi Singh 14-12, 11-9, 11-9; U-13: Arnaav Sareen bt Mohit Bhatt 11-7, 11-7, 13-11; U-11: Yuvraj Wadhwani bt Vivaan Shah 11-6, 11-6, 11-7.

FC MUMBAIKAR WIN

Arthav Sawan and Kailesh Damankar’s strikes enabled FC Mumbaikar to record a 2-0 win over Companeroes SC ‘B’ in the Mumbai District Football Association’s Second Division league at the St Xavier’s ground, Parel, on Wednesday. Other result : Second Division: Indian Gymkhana 1 (Pradeep KP) drew with Sagar Mitra Mandal 1 (Saurabh Hadgal).

AUSTER SLAMS FIVE

Auster D’Souza struck all five goals in Andheri-based St Blaise’s 5-1 win over Vivekanand, Kurla in the Mumbai Schools Sports Association’s boys under14, Fourth Division league football tournament on Wednesday. Raj pulled one back against the run of play.

ZUBAIR NETS THRICE

Companeroes celebrated their striker Zubair Karbhani’s hattrick as they walked off with a 4-0 win over Clifford Carmen Foundation in the boys’ under14 league of the Bandra West Football Association League. Zaid Chataiwala’s goal added to the Foundation’s miseries.
